The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the notification for Constable (General Duty) Recruitment 2026. This recruitment includes posts in CAPFs such as BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles. A total of 25,487 vacancies have been announced for both male and female candidates across India.
The online application process will start from 1 December 2025 and will continue until 31 December 2025. Candidates must ensure they complete the application before the deadline. The last date for fee payment is 1 January 2026, while the correction window will be available from 8 January to 10 January 2026.
To be eligible, candidates must have passed the 10th (Matriculation) examination from a recognized board. The age limit is between 18 to 23 years as of 1 January 2026, with age relaxation applicable as per government norms.
The selection process consists of multiple stages including Computer Based Examination (CBE), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), Medical Examination, and Document Verification. The CBT exam will test candidates on General Intelligence, General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi.
The Computer Based Examination is scheduled to be conducted between February and April 2026. Candidates who qualify will proceed to physical tests conducted by CAPFs.
The salary for SSC GD Constable falls under Pay Level-3, ranging from ₹21,700 to ₹69,100 along with additional benefits such as allowances, medical facilities, and pension benefits.
